You can connect the Radiance set to the TV in different ways. The two most common ways are with an HDMI or Optical cable. Below is a description of the best way to connect the system:

HDMI

Using the HDMI cable provided, connect the main unit to the HDMI TV (arc) port on the TV using the HDMI ARC port on the main unit.

Note: If you use a different HDMI port for the connection (not marked ARC), this port does not support audio and you will probably not hear any sound from the set.

Preferably connect a provider decoder and any other devices such as external DVD players/gaming consoles or media players to the remaining free HDMI ports on the TV.

Ensure that CEC is enabled in the television settings. This may vary per brand of television:

  • Samsung - AnyNet+
  • Sharp - Aquos Link
  • Sony - BRAVIA Link and/or BRAVIA Sync
  • Toshiba - CE-Link and Regza Link
  • LG - SimpLink
  • Panasonic - HDAVI Control, EZ-Sync and VIERA Link
  • Phillips - EasyLink

In the TV settings, under audio out/audio output, choose the HDMI Audio System instead of the TV speaker.

Make sure that you do not select PCM in the audio preferences in your TV settings under digital audio format but BITSTREAM/Passtrough or AUTO if this option is available.

OPTICAL

If some CEC functions do not work properly in your home setup, we recommend connecting the Radiance with an optical cable.

In this case, remove the HDMI cable and connect the device to your television via the optical cable. Please note that you must select optical/optical for audio output in your TV settings. Make sure there is only one cable between the TV and the Radiance.

Preferably connect a provider decoder and any other devices such as external DVD players/gaming consoles or media players to the remaining free HDMI ports on the TV.

In the TV settings, under audio out/audio output, choose Optical/Audio system instead of TV speaker.

Make sure that you do not select PCM in the audio preferences in your TV settings under digital audio format but BITSTREAM/Passtrough or AUTO if this option is available.

If you would like to be able to operate both the TV and the soundbar with one remote control, you can learn the remote control you want to use by choosing Options > Universal IR Learning on your display. You will then be guided through the process in a few simple steps and the remote control will be ready for use.

No sound?

Check that the volume level on the Radiance and/or television is not muted and that the correct source is selected on the display. Also check that your device, the television and any connected devices such as a Mediabox have the latest firmware.
