Each TV brand can decide which CEC commands may be relayed to external devices.

What may be adjusted in the TV settings can differ per TV brand, and this can also have different names. For example, with Philips televisions you can enable or disable Easylink (CEC in general) and you can also separately choose whether you want to be able to relay commands from the remote control using HDMI ARC.

In the Ziggo Mediabox Next settings, you can configure whether to permit or prohibit relaying of automatic enabling and disabling of external devices.

If the Citation MultiBeam 1100 is connected using HDMI ARC, CEC must always be enabled.

Below is a list of the most common names:

  • Samsung – AnyNet(+)
  • Sharp – Aquos Link
  • Sony – BRAVIA Link and/or BRAVIA Sync
  • Toshiba – CE-Link and Regza Link
  • LG – SimpLink
  • Panasonic – HDAVI Control, EZ-Sync and VIERA Link
  • Phillips – EasyLink

We currently recommend optically connecting Philips and Samsung televisions. Given that optical cables do not support CEC, you must also programme the TV remote control in this case if you also want to operate your soundbar with the TV remote control. (Article available in the FAQ section.)

If a customer uses the Ziggo Mediabox Next and the soundbar is optically connected, you can activate infrared by pairing the remote control you want to use for all your devices under Picture and Sound settings. (Article available in the FAQ section.)

NOTE: Please keep in mind that CEC-functionalities may change after a possible future TV firmware upgrade. If you experience CEC issues you might consider connecting your soundbar via an optical cable.
